FOLLOW THE LEDA UPDATED JUNE 2020 COVID19 POLICIES
The following new policies and rules must be followed by all students who attend lessons of any kind at Follow the Leda.
All policies are subject to revision as we learn the safest and most efficient ways to conduct our lessons.
Follow the Leda, LLC (Tara Baggerman) has implemented a list of rules to help prevent the spread of COVID19 and to keep each other safe while continuing to provide agility education.
General Facility

Group Agility Lessons
*All students must wear a mask at all times, even when running. As we will be required to wear masks at competitions it is best that our dogs get used to this picture in training. Be sure that your mask is breathable.
*Classes sizes will be reduced to 5 students OR LESS. Sorry but no guests, spouses, partners, children, etc. No exceptions.
*No dog to dog, person to dog or person to person contact.
*During warm weather months you are encouraged to crate out of your vehicle. If you would like to set up inside you may, but you must bring your own dog crate and chair from home. None will be provided for you. You must spread your crate out into one of the ‘designated’ crating spots. During colds weather months you must park up front.
*Once your lesson is over, please do not loiter in or around the school.
*You are not allowed to touch the equipment unless gloves are worn.
*If your dog needs to use a target plate please bring your own as none will be provided for you.
*Please do not leave or store any personal items at the facility, this includes shoes, crates, dog bowls, etc.

GROUP CLASSES
*Your space in a group class is only reserved once your completed enrollment form, with signed liability waiver, and full tuition payment are received.
*All students must sign and date the liability waiver / release prior to participation in a group class.
*Tuition checks are cashed upon receipt. We do also accept electronic payments. Email for details.
*Prior to the start date of class refunds will be considered on an individual basis, and always granted if your space in class can be filled by another student.
*No refunds are given once class has started, unless, your space can be filled by another student.
*Dogs who are reactive and/or aggressive toward other dogs or people are NOT allowed in group classes. No exceptions. If you enroll in a group class, and your dog exhibits aggressive behavior you will be instantly excused and NO refund will be issued. Safety is the chief priority. DO NOT register for a group class if your dog is reactive!

General Facility
- The school’s communal areas and restroom will be sanitized before and after every single lesson.
- Upon entry, ALL persons must sanitize their hands either by washing in the sink OR with hand sanitizer.
- All persons entering the facility must wear a MASK and keep this mask on at all times while inside.
- Do not enter the building until you have been invited in by your instructor.
- All clients must please practice social distancing, maintaining at least 6 feet of personal space.
- Any client feeling ill must stay home.
- One way traffic. Please only enter through the doors marked ‘ENTER’ and exit through the doors marked ‘EXIT’.
- The use of the fridge, microwave, coffee/ tea station is not allowed.
Private Agility Lessons

If you would like to set up inside you may, but you must bring your own dog crate and chair from home. None will be provided for you. During cold weather months you must park up front.

- You are not allowed to touch the equipment. Only your instructor may touch bars or any equipment.
- If your dog needs to use a target plate please bring your own as none will be provided for you.

CANCELED CLASSES
*If your class is canceled for any reason (poor weather, sick instructor, act of God, etc) there are no refunds. Students who continue onto the next session will be granted a credit of equal value to the canceled class(es) toward the new session.
*In poor weather, it is the students responsibility to always check the Follow the Leda FaceBook page, where the latest weather cancellations will be posted. As a courtesy your instructor will try to contact the class participants as well, this may not always be possible. If your instructor is canceling for non-obvious reasons (not a blizzard, etc) you will be notified by email as early as possible.
*Occasionally your instructor will be absent and you will have a substitute. The substitute will be hand-picked and trained by your instructor. There are NO refunds or credits issued when this happens. It is YOUR decision whether or not to participate in the class.
MISSED CLASSES (by the student)
*If you are absent for ANY reason there are NO credits or refunds for the missed class. Missed classes may possibly be made up on another day, in another class, with the instructor's permission. This is a courtesy granted to you by your instructor, and there is no guarantee a make-up opportunity will become available for you.
*Special situations (such as actual emergencies) will be considered for a refund on an individual basis and by the instructor's discretion.
*If you are going to miss an entire session: you must either pay for the entire session to reserve your space or permanently forfeit your space in class for another student. Spaces are NOT held for any reason. There is no guarantee there will still be room for you in a class once you have left it.
PRIVATE LESSONS:
*Canceling your private lesson prior to 24 hours of scheduled private lesson: once you schedule a private lesson you are committed financially to the ring rental fee ($30) for that date and time, unless your lesson can be filled with another student. If you cancel prior to 24 hours of your lesson, and your instructor can not find another student to take your spot, you have two options:
1. SEND SOMEONE ELSE TO FILL YOUR SPOT.
OR
2. SEND THE RING RENTAL PAYMENT ($30) TO:

*Personal exemptions can be made by your instructor's discretion.
*Students are not financially responsible if your instructor cancels the private lesson.
*Please know that your instructor will try to do everything possible to help you find another student to take your spot should you need to cancel a lesson, however there are no guarantees.

4911 Rt. 50 Gansevoort, NY 12831 *Please enter the facility through the front door. Do not enter the arena directly as there could be a loose dog. PARKING *Please park in the left parking lot. TURF RULES *There is a strict "NO POTTY IN THE RING" rule. Please be sure to potty your dog outside before class starts. If your dog does soil on the artificial turf, you must pay our fine ($10) toward the cleaning and maintenance cost of the footing for each offense. Dogs who frequently soil (definition by the instructor's discretion) will not be permitted in class without a diaper or belly band to prevent urination. *Bitches in season are welcome to attend class, but, MUST wear a diaper or else not participate in class until their cycle has finished. SHOES *Only clean, dry footwear may be worn on the turf. No wet shoes. Moisture the "kiss of death" on the surface. Please change your shoes in the front (main) room. No cleats or shoes with rough bottoms may be worn. DOGS *Dogs must be kept on leash, unless working in the arena. DO NOT allow your dog on our property without a leash on. Follow the Leda is located on Rt. 50 -- a busy road. The training school is only partially fenced. Do not take chances with your dog's safety. Your dog should be leashed both exiting and entering your vehicle. *Please potty your dogs in the designated areas and clean up after them. Do not let your dog use the landscaping as a restroom. *Aggressive or reactive dogs are not allowed in a group class. No exceptions. |
